Review

For a beginner low-budget grill, the Spirit S-315 by Weber is almost unrivalled for all the right reasons. First off, the quality is unquestionable. Weber doesn’t compromise on durability with any of their products. The grill has a sleek stainless steel design that’s not only good to look at but also holds up well to frequent use. The stainless steel surface and porcelain enameled cast-iron grates make cleaning and maintenance a breeze.

Other convenient features include: side tables, on which you can place grilling essentials or use to prepare food and a warming rack that keeps food warm. You can count on it for evenly cooked and delicious meals because it distributes heat uniformly. You will hardly ever experience hot and cold spots on the cooking grates.

Overall Performance

Weber Spirit S-315 ReviewThe Weber Spirit S-315 gas grill is not the best Weber has to offer but it isn’t too disappointing in terms of performance. Its relatively lower cost explains its basic build. It is not packed with features like other Webers but it will give you the perfect flavorful chicken, fish or veggies grill. Plus, you can cook food for up to 3 people at once.

Cooking area

The grill offers an ample cooking surface totaling 424 sq inches. The space is enough for you to host a large cookout. What’s more, you get foldable side tables on which you can place your grilling essentials like seasonings and dishes.

Also featured are tool hooks that will help you have easy access to grilling accessories like tongs and spatula. They will help you have an organized workspace.

Another feature you will appreciate is the warming rack. It keeps food warm and toasts the buns while you grill the burger or steak on the grate.

Burners

Weber Spirit S-315 ReviewThe grill has 3 stainless steel burners. The stainless steel is durable and super-easy to clean. A simple wipe with a wet cloth would remove any food drippings on it.

BTUs

The 3 burners of the grill produce 32,000 BTUs of heat per hour. This is more than enough heat to cook just about any meal to perfection. The burners are pretty much the same as those you’d find in any modern furnace.

You can always use maximum heat output to sear your meats to perfection, provided you control it with precision.

Fuel source and ignition type

The Weber Spirit S-315 is a gas grill and it uses either liquid propane or natural gas. The natural gas version comes with a long hose for gas connection.

You will love that the grill features an easy-to-read fuel gauge. It is located next to the gas tank and it allows you to see how much gas is left. At least the party wouldn’t have to stop because you ran out of fuel.

Like many other Weber gas grills, the grill has an electric ignition system. The ignition system uses batteries and it fires up the grill quickly and reliably. You can use AA batteries which are more accessible.

Cooking grates

The grill features reliable porcelain enameled cooking grates. The grates can retain heat to grill your foods to perfection. Plus they have flavorizer bars that improve the taste of your meals.

The porcelain enamel coating makes the grates ultra-durable and easy to clean. All you’d have to do to clean is wipe with a wet piece of cloth.

Ease of use

Weber Spirit S-315 ReviewAnyone can use the grill for the first time. It is pretty straightforward but in case you are completely green, you can always refer to a detailed instructional manual included. Most of its features make it a tad easier to use compared to other gas grills within its range.

The electronic ignition system gets you started immediately. The side tables and tool hooks increase your accessibility to everything you need for grilling. The warming rack helps you serve your guests quickly as you wouldn’t have to re-heat the food once you are done cooking.

Another convenient feature that makes the grill easy to use is the center-mounted thermometer that allows you to monitor your cooking temperatures easily.

Safety features

Since propane and natural gas are flammable, Weber has included some safety features to prevent leak hazards. There’s a gas regulator that limits gas flow whenever there’s a mishap like bad connection or a raptured gas hose.

Portability

Weber Spirit S-315 ReviewThe S-315 is not the best portable gas grill out there but it can get moved from one place to another. Its 105 pounds are manageable, plus it features heavy-duty casters that allow you to move it from one point to another easily.

Maintenance and Warranty

Owing to its high-quality build, maintenance doesn’t involve much with the Weber spirit S-315. Maintenance would mostly entail cleaning, proper storage and regular checkups. Cleaning it is such a breeze, given its surface is mostly made of stainless steel. Stainless steel is also resistant to corrosion and all the harsh weather elements.

Weber usually gives generous warranties, probably because they have so much faith in the quality of their products. The grill is covered by a whopping 10-year warranty. In case of anything within the period you can always reach out to Weber for repairs or replacements.
